EuroPoodles.
In case you may be interested in a puppy from our next litter here is some background information about EuroPoodles and our breeding approach. You can also see many pictures of our puppies from all litters and a few ones of their parents and even grandparents and grand-grandparents on the mother’s line (both winners at various European and World shows) on my EuroPoodles blogs that I have recently created for the families of the pups to document in pictures the beginning of their puppie’s life here: http://europoodles.blogspot.com, http://europoodlesj3-d1.blogspot.com/ The litter that we are having now is on http://europoodlesd1.blogspot.com/ You have to click on "Old posts" at the bottom right corner of every page to see more (and more and more!) pictures.
Our apricot mini poodle girl Janee produced three litters of healthy beautiful puppies and she proved to be an exceptionally caring and loving mom. I have all originals of the relevant information about my dog (e.g., RFKC – Russian Federation Kennel Club - and AKC registration, genetic test results - all excellent, international pedigree, etc.). If you are interested you may look at Janee’s pedigree under her official name Novy Bibilot Djenifer Fler or #PR08123101 at AKC website. All her genetic test results are registered with the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and can be checked under CHIC# 44626 (www.caninehealthinfo.org). (I hope that all puppy buyers will insist on checking the CHIC registration when they deal with a breeder. It will help us, breeders, to be discriminating in selecting the right dogs for breeding and fully responsible for breeding the healthiest possible pups.) I do not intend to develop my home breeding program into a large kennel operation. I have just 2 mini girls of highest possible quality (Janee and her 3 year old daughter Diva) who I breed very selectively. The dogs and puppies live in our bedroom, kitchen and living room. They stay with us all the time. My poodles never lived and will never live in a kennel in cages. We share the house and life styles, hiking in the mountains, playing with cats or watching "Animal Planet" together. Janee gave birth to her litters on our/her guestroom bed which became our doggies’ first “home” (you can see from the first pictures). Raising newborn puppies is my passion and I am trying to do everything (nutrition choice for the mom and babes, physical development, mental stimulation and emotional health) according to the latest available research in dog health and behavior. We do everything to socialize the puppies and prepare them for their new homes, beginning with 14 days of age, right after they become able to see and hear. Even before that, they become familiar with our touch and smell as each of the pups spends considerable time being gently handled in our arms and laps on a daily basis. We apply a modified “First Steps” nursery-training program. Every day they meet new challenges - getting used to sleeping in different places and crates, eating from various dishes and plates different types of quality food (gradually), exposing to various surfaces and shapes and sizes (attacking balloons and chasing blowing bubbles are some of favorite pack’s games!). We get them accustomed to domestic noises (TV, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, dishwasher, laundry, music etc.), riding in a car, smells and sounds of the city life and being handled by different people. We are also getting them used to cutting nails, bathing, trimming and clipping. It is extremely rewarding to learn how well our puppies got adjusted to their new homes and how much joy they bring to their families. (We are happy to provide references from our puppy owners’ families upon request.) Our annual pup re-unions that we hold in summer at our place are great fun for both dogs and humans – not to be missed!
Here is a little bit of our story. I brought my Janee from Europe (St. Petersburg, Russia). She was the only girl from a most special litter that I had been tracking down for some time. Since I showed and bred mini poodles when I lived in Russia years ago, and since I stayed connected with the “poodle world” there, I was fortunate to get this precious girl. Both of her parents are of international championship bloodlines through generations. Faberge, the farther, has become a Best Mini Apricot in the World Winner Show of 2006. Janee’s mother is a champion of different European countries and her sister became the Winner at the World Poodle Show 2008 in Sweden. Her young daughter quickly won her championships both in the US and Canada. I brought Janee to the US, hoping to contribute to this rare color in the mini poodle breed here. I’m glad that some of her off-springs contribute into developing of a new show line in this country but it is equally important for me to breed as ideal family pets as I possibly can. I want people to get to know more of these beautiful smart dogs and fall in love with them the way I am.
Janee is of classic poodle beauty, and she is athletic and gentle, the sweetest and most accommodating poodle I have ever had. Janee won the first prizes in a few outside competitive events and became “Best In Show” in an obedience contest. She was also chosen as a “cover girl” model for the PetEdge catalogue. She is very friendly with all people, children, dogs and cats, even birds. Our two Persian cats are her best buddies. Both Janee and Diva have taken various classes (puppies’, agility, rally, numerous handling lessons), and passed their tests to become certified therapy dogs. I am very happy that they bring much joy to people who are in nursing homes and other care facilities. In fact, the girls are convinced that they are there to receive therapy - from love and attention of everybody. Diva, as well as her mother Janee, is also titled as a Good Canine Citizen (AKC certification). Her success in pre-agility class inspired me to continue more advanced agility training with her. And what a swimmer and retriever she is! Diva’s first babies were born on January 4 this year, a beautiful and robust litter of four. As we expected, she turned out to be as Super-Mom as Janee. She puts all her heart in everything she does for her babies and simply can’t get enough of them!
The father of the previous litters is a red mini poodle, Sam, a well-known champion from the “Cameo” breeding kennel (You can look at the web-site of “Cameo” for more information and pictures.) The father of Diva’s litter is a young champion, Clifford (The Big Red Dog from “Cameo”).
I am determined to continue to breed pure mini poodles not just for beauty but for health and temperament. I want to be sure that the puppies will go to loving homes, and live with responsible and caring people. I hope that all our puppy owners will be totally happy with their choice and the terms of the contract, and I would like to stay in touch with them. The price of a puppy from our litter is $1500 with AKC registration, copies of the parents’ pedigrees and copies of genetic health test results. (Hygiene grooming training session is provided by a request). And, of course, while waiting for your puppy, besides tons of information on specific issues of your poodle’s well-being you will be receiving hundreds of the pictures, almost on daily bases, and detailed updates. If you confirm your interest I will send you the application form and contract for you to look at before we schedule a telephone interview. If we both feel comfortable to proceed you need to send me $500 deposit which means that a puppy from the next litter is not available for any other home, it is yours when it is ready to go (about 9 weeks old). I hope that by the time you get your puppy the important information on the latest research in health, nutrition, vaccinations, training, grooming, etc. that I would share with you will help you to make the best decisions and prepare well for your new precious family member.
We live in South Deerfield, Western Mass., 01373, very close to routes I-91 and 116. You are very welcome to meet my small poodle family in person if you wish. Besides being a mini poodle breeder, I am a social psychologist by my educational background, a group trainer in communication skills and conflict resolution. And, besides being a human trainer, I also assist and lead various classes as a dog trainer working with a wonderful dog specialist and researcher in animal behavior (www.canineheadstart.com).
